Working with discount items:

The content of the Sales page on the main website is controlled by the Category class assigned to each item. This means that if a Category class of Sale, Blemished, or Discontinued has NOT been assigned to any item in the inventory, then the default view for the Sales page will show that no items are on sale at this time.

Once a Category class of Sale, Blemished, or Discontinued has been added to any product, the Sales Page will automatically update once the changes have been published.

The price shown on the Sales page is controlled controlled by the Price field of the product in the Products table in the CMS. If a value has been added to the Compare-at-price field in the Products table then both prices will automatically show up on the card displayed in the Sales page.

Sale Items:

Go to the Products table in the CMS
Select the product you want to put on sale.

Scroll down to locate the Price field. The Compare-at-price field should be right next to it. Items with multiple variants (ie. size, color, etc.) will have multiple Price and Compare-at price fields. The Price is what the customer will be charged at check-out. TheCompare-at price is the original price before the item went on sale, was Blemished, or was discontinued.

Copy the value in Price field to the Compare-at price field.
Enter the new sale price into the Price field.
Save your changes with the save button on the top right.
Next go to the Categories table in the CMS
Locate the category you want to assign to the product item (ie. Sale Item, Blemished, Discontinued) and click on the category item.
Scroll down to the Products field and click on the magnifying glassicon on the right of the ‘Pick Products…’ field.
Select the item that you want to put on sale.
Save your changes with the save button on the top right.
Close the Ecommerce window from the top left menu. Click on the ‘X’.
Go to the Sale Items page and verify the item is shown on sale withthe proper tag (ie. Sale, Blemished, Discontinued).

Discontinued Items:

Procedure is the same for putting an item on sale.

Blemished Items:

This procedure is slightly different since the Blemished product is different from the other products of the same type. First we need to make the product unique and then put the Blemished item on sale.

Go to the Products table in the CMS
Select the product name of the Blemished item.
Scroll to the bottom of the product listing and select the Duplicate button.
This will create a NEW item with the word ‘Copy’ appended to the end. All the fields will be exactly the same as the unblemished product.
I would recommend replacing the word ‘Copy’ with the word ‘Blemished’. You will notice the title of the Slug field will automatically change also.
Scroll down to the Price field
Copy the value in Price field to the Compare-at price field.
Enter the new sale price into the Price field.
Save your changes with the save button on the top right.
Next go to the Categories table in the CMS
Located the Blemished category and click on the category item.
Scroll down to the Products field and click on the magnifying glassicon on the right of the ‘Pick Products…’ field.
Select the item that you want to put on sale.
Save your changes with the save button on the top right.
Close the Ecommerce window from the top left menu. Click on the ‘X’. table in the CMS
Go to the Sale Items page and verify the item is shown on sale withthe proper tag (ie. Sale, Blemished, Discontinued).

Creating an ad:

Create Ad:

You will need a current customer list from the NGI website to be used as a contact list in the email for the ad.

You will also need an ad which should include a graphic and some adcopy text. The current BlackFriday ad is at:

email:

NGI email is being hosted by https://www.infinityinternet.com/

The user logon allows you to read, generate, and work with email.

The user logon is:  https://webmail.iinet.com

The Infinity Internet limitations for bulk email are:1. Less than 100contacts per email.2. Less than 100mailings every five minutes.
Once logged on,check the contact groups for accuracy.

Import contact list if necessary.

Address the ad email

FROM Sales@nittygrittyinc.comTOInfo@nittygrittyinc.comand BCC the customer group you want.

Since the customers are being blind carbon copied, they will not be able to see each other’s email address.

Create the email ad.

The easiest way is to copy the ad graphic from the NGI ad page and paste it into the ad body. Next you need to add some ad copy text to the email or some email servers will report ‘no body’ in the header as they don’t see the graphic as body text.

The easiest way to add ‘copy text’ is to copy it from the NGI ad page and paste it into the email after the graphic. You can adjust the size and position of the text at this point.

Send the email add to each group in the contact list, one at a time, sending the ad every 5 minutes or so. You will need to create, and mail, 5 separate ads for the 450 current customer contacts.
